Matthew Friend
Matt joined Argo Partners in 2017. Matt’s primary focus is researching and analyzing companies that have filed Chapter 11 or Chapter 7 bankruptcy cases, with an emphasis on unsecured creditors.
In addition to the above, Matt also analyzes and sources non-distressed investments in cash-flowing Multifamily and Student Housing Investments. For real estate investments, Matt seeks out investment opportunities that are not correlated to general market “distress” (ie: bankruptcy filings), providing alternative revenue and investment opportunities for the firm.
Prior to joining Argo Partners, Matt held both Sales and Business Development roles at Mastercard Advisors Consulting and at American Express. At both companies, he focused on strategy, partnerships and investments across North and South America.
Earlier in his career, he also provided outsourced business development services to companies funded by venture capital investors, such as: Sequoia Capital, Benchmark Capital and General Atlantic.
Matt holds an MBA in Finance from the NYU Stern School of Business and a BA in Government and Politics from the University of Maryland, College Park.
